Julian Gerighty, boss of The Division franchise at Ubisoft, has left the corporate to hitch Battlefield developer DICE.

Gerighty confirmed his departure in a social media submit only a week after showing on a online game showcase livestream to advertise The Division 3.

Talking throughout the New Recreation+ Showcase 2026 earlier this month, Gerighty stated: “So, The Division 3 is in manufacturing, proper? This isn’t a secret. It has been introduced. It is shaping as much as be a monster. I am unable to actually say something greater than that. However that is, inside these partitions in Huge, we’re working extraordinarily arduous on one thing that I believe will likely be as large an impression as Division 1 was.”

He then went on to enthuse about different The Division initiatives within the works at Huge Leisure, which he has now left for fellow Swedish studio DICE.

“It is time for me to hold up my go bag (retaining the watch) as I am going on one other grand journey,” Gerighty stated. “The Division future burns brilliant, and I am unable to wait so that you can uncover what the groups have been engaged on. Lengthy stay The Division and Godspeed!”

Two months in the past, Huge Leisure launched what it referred to as a “voluntary profession transition program,” (the studio requested its employees to volunteer to be laid off) as a part of a transfer to deal with The Division franchise and its Snowdrop recreation engine. It got here as a part of vital restructuring at Ubisoft that has seen a number of studio closures and rounds of layoffs. Huge Leisure’s Star Wars Outlaws, launched in 2024, was a giant gross sales disappointment for Ubisoft, regardless of vital growth and advertising prices. Julian Gerighty was Outlaws’ co-director.

Then, earlier this week, Ubisoft introduced that it anticipated 55 jobs to be impacted by layoffs at Huge and fellow Swedish outfit Ubisoft Stockholm as a result of its voluntary redundancy scheme didn’t obtain as many leavers as essential for Ubisoft’s plans to scale back headcount. Ubisoft introduced The Division 3 over two years in the past, and it has but to point out off the sport.

In a social media submit, Huge Leisure informed The Division followers to not fear about Gerighty’s departure, saying the groups who constructed The Division with him stay.

As soon as an Agent, at all times an Agent. We’re grateful for every little thing you gave this universe. You’ll at all times be a part of it. Good luck at @EA_DICE, @jgerighty 🧡 pic.twitter.com/QlzuV4XtVV
